Toy Drive

 The Little Lighthouse Foundation’s (“LLF”) 7th annual Holiday Toy Distribution  Party took place at Jungle Island on Saturday, December 17, 2016.  Over 150 LLF volunteers distributed more than 3,000 presents to over 800 children [U1] and their families from Children’s Home Society (Miami), Children’s Home Society (Broward), Miami Children’s Initiative, Lotus House, Miami Bridge, YWCA Miami, Interamerican [U2] Preschool, Gratigny Elementary School, Communities In Schools, Family Resource Center, Our Kids, Overtown Youth Center, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Special Olympics Florida[U3] .

Toy drop off locations were set up at 100 locations and LLF partnered businesses across Miami-Dade County including Apple, Starbucks, Sprint, and One Sotheby’s, collecting a total of 2,500 toys. Over 500 additional toys were collected at LLF’s Holiday Party and Toy Drive on December 16, 2016and hundreds more were purchased at the volunteer shopping spree held at Target Midtown the morning of the magical celebration at Jungle Island.

At Jungle Island, children enjoyed a once in a lifetime holiday experience with entertainment from Nava and Fantastic Party Factory, Coral Reef Senior High School Choir, which wasunderthe direction of Shanpatrick Davis, the Cassandra Claude Vocal Arts Choir, Dance Tech Studios, Club Magico Miami, and The International Brotherhood of Magicians as well as lunch from Subway and a day in the park subsidized by Parrot Jungle.
